In a bleak and distant future, mutants have been hunted to near extinction. To prevent this future from coming to pass, Wolverine (Jackman) is sent back to unite young hopeless Xavier (McAvoy) and young criminal Magneto (Fassbender) to join forces against the creator of the sentinels (Dinklage).
The actors from the original X-Men trilogy and the First Class prequel come together to span a hopeless present with a dangerous future showcasing the best the series has to offer. Opening with an action-packed fight sequence, the stakes don't let up and grip you from start to finish.
Fassbender and McAvoy command the show with powerhouse performances that give great drive and humanity to young Xavier and Magneto. Though we can't discredit the star power of their older selves, nor ignore the astounding performances of the rest of the cast. Lawrence returns as Mystique holding to heart of the story on her shoulders with ease, while Dinklage dominates the screen as Dr Bolivar Traske, and words fail to explain how memorable Evan Peters’ implike portrayal of Quicksilver has cemented him in the consciousness of the fandom.
With a deliciously complex script, backed by a brilliant cast and a brilliant blend of past and present, it's easy to see why this film is seen by many to be the greatest X-Men film yet.
